The annual tuition at Wonder Awhile Nursery School, a not-for-profit organization, is determined by our total expenses for the year: salaries, supplies, snacks, janitor, etc., divided by the anticipated number of children. Excess revenue, if any, maintains and improves our school.

If you have any questions concerning our tuition policies, please contact our Director (director@wonderawhile.org) directly.

Scholarship aid is available on a limited basis for parents who could not otherwise send their child to nursery school. Applications for these partial scholarships are kept strictly confidential.

FAQs

How do I enroll my child in Wonder Awhile?

You can call the school at any time during the year and speak with our director, Jane Brennan. The school telephone number is 207-377-6111.

It's January, is it too late to enroll my child?

It's never too late! Call us today to discuss your child's opportunities at Wonder Awhile!

Are there field trips for the children?

There are field trips for both morning and afternoon sessions. Field trips include short, walking field trips to the library and post office and travel in cars to the fire station, apple orchard, and local nursing home.

Approximately how many children are in a class and what is the ratio of students to teachers?

We are State of Maine approved for twenty children. However, classes can range from 10-18 students. All classes have 3 full-time teachers, so the ratio is great and allows for flexible and creative learning experiences for our students.

How do you manage to be so affordable?

As a mission of the United Methodist Church, our building expenses (heat, and all other utilities) are minimal. In exchange, we offer the Church 5% of all paid tuition. We also work very hard on several fundraisers throughout the year, which may include our annual Christmas Fair, Village Candle fundraiser, Take home meals, Sweet Tooth Fudge sale, and a Spring performance and Basket Auction.
